Member Spotlight: Tim and his 2005 Jeep Wrangler

Tim has been part of the club since 1993 and enjoy runs to the sand, Sierras, and the desert. He is the current Club President and has held various officer positions for many years.

Tim drives a 2005 Jeep Wrangler (TJ). 4.0L w/ 5 speed manual. 35” BFG KM2’s, 4.88 gears with ARB lockers Front & Rear Custom Long Arms with coil overs in the rear and wheel base stretched to 100”.

He carries a winch, onboard air, and a “tow strap for the other guy!” The Jeep has different tops, tires, and doors based on destination.

Member Spotlight: The Slattery’s and the “Slatticon”

2005 Jeep Wrangler (TJ). 33” Goodyear MTR’s, Dana 30 with 4.56 gears and ARB locker up front.

The Slattery’s have owned this rig since 2010 and joined the SB4WDC in June 2016. Bryan Slattery is also the current Vice President for the club.

The Slattery’s have done several trips with the Club including TDS, Big Bear, Randsburg and the Rubicon Trail. I hope to have many more adventures in the years to come.

Member Spotlight: Mike Williams and his 2002 Toyota Tacoma TRD

Mike’s motto is, “It’s not what you buy it’s what you build” and he sure has built an amazingly capable truck!

SB4WD Off Road Safety

When we are going offroading, we want to be a safe. Here is a list of the safety equipment you should have:

  1. Roll Bar or Metal Top
  2. Seat belt for each occupant
  3. Functional emergency brake or micro-lock
  4. Functional tow points
  5. Fire Extinguisher
Additional “Recommended” Safety Equipment

  • First Aid Kit
  • Tow Rope, Strap, Cable, Chain and Shackles
  • CB or UHF/VHF Radio
